March 2023 updates
Overview
HighQ March 2023 Collaborate updates will be applied to customer facing sandbox/UAT instances over the weekend of the 25th/26th February, with production deployments taking place from the weekend of the 4th/5th March onwards.
HighQ Publisher customers will have access to the latest March feature release on their UAT instances from the 25th February 2023 with production deployments being applied to customer instances from the 11th March 2023.

This month's updates include:
Time to Value
- Faster solutions for customers who use AI and customised forms. Sites can be built faster because site administrators can clone data views with a single click and users can choose their own data columns - rather than rely on administrators to create every view
Core Platform Improvements
- Fast and comprehensive searching for contract file attachments with a single search, allowing filters on all metadata, so that in-house counsel can quickly find the relevant contracts
CLM Pendo guide
- Get set up with your CLM solution, faster with the new in-app CLM Solution Template onboarding guide (powered by Pendo). This will enable admin users (with the relevant licenses) to follow step by step guidance directly within HighQ, in order to complete the setup of their system and CLM solution as quickly and effectively as possible

These updates affect normal users and the user interface:
Publisher
- We have introduced a change to manage bounceback emails automatically as a proactive preventative method to stop sending spam emails to users that don't exist. By automatically 'pausing' emails sent to certain users, after 5 different attempts, when bounce back emails are returned and adding those users to a quarantine list, this temporary precaution will stop users being added to the block list. Users can then be removed from this quarantine list when applicable. For more information on the Publisher Email Bounceback Management, click here

- We have improved Publisher filters to remember user defined filter selections when reviewing articles. This means that when a user filters to view certain content, after browsing for and viewing an article and then returning to the previous page, the filter selection will be saved

System Dashboards
- We have introduced 'skeleton loading' to our panels, which will now show users that the panel is loading and that their action is currently underway. This removes any doubt as to whether the action has initiated or not
- Users can now automatically download a document that they have generated. This will provide easy access for business users who may not have a deep understanding of HighQ, and enables them to get access to the information they need straight away. For more information, click here

- We have introduced the ability to customise the colours of the pagination designs, using hex colour codes (or the colour picker), within System dashboards. For more information on how to do this, click here
- Users will now be able to quickly and easily view who the key contacts are for a landing page - people that they might want to be in contact with, making self-serve client portal landing pages as accessible as possible with aggregated information. For more information, click here

AI Hub
- Users can now link to Thoughts within Document Intelligence from iSheet cells, by double clicking the corresponding piece of information
Search
- Advanced search from the Files module has been expanded to include iSheet attachments, providing improved user experience to search for intake attachments from one place. Rather than having to search for separate sub-sets of information
Tasks
- Tasks are now automatically deselected when the action is completed for simplified checklist management

As announced in the client community, all older versions of the Collaborate APIs are being deprecated from the 31st of March 2023. Therefore, Publisher has upgraded all versions of the Collaborate APIs to ensure no impact from this change
Contract Analysis
- Contract Analysis has been retired and new configurations are no longer available
Performance improvements
Our March 2023 release implements the following performance improvements:
AI Hub
- We can now process almost 3x as many documents per minute per instance in the Kira integration
- Service Endpoints, across the data centre, are now treated separately and will have their own queues
- iSheets are more responsive to change from AI and human-asserted changes in integrated products
Publisher
- Generating the Content Access Audit is now 6 times faster
Apps
- We have improved the Office Outlook Plugin user experience. There will now be a shorter span of time between interactions resulting in a speed increase of around 20-30%
Files
- You can now retrieve folder details from folder IDs almost instantly
- Fetching child folder IDs now takes 29% less time
- Listing document metadata views is now almost 2x faster
- Listing document index pages is now 37% quicker
- You can now retrieve deleted folders and document IDs instantly
- Downloading user reports is now 4x as fast
- User folder access CSV files can now be retrieved almost instantly
- Retrieving document ID lists from a CSV file occurs in near real-time
iSheet
- You can now retrieve iSheets in less than a second
- Performance has been improved for fetching iSheet column data by reducing the number of calls
User
- You can now view a user’s profile in near real-time
- Retrieving user roles is now nearly 8x faster
Approvals
- Viewing all admin users is now 55% quicker

Feature release highlights this month
This month's updates include enhancements to iSheets, AI Hub Connectivity, and workflows. We've also enhanced key functionality such as file management capabilities, based on customer requests. See below for details on the updates.
Keeping you connected
- Core connectivity enhancements improve the user experience and get you up and running even faster
- Our Kira integration using the AI Hub can support increased file processing volumes, meaning it is faster to review large numbers of contracts
- The AI connector allowing 3rd party AI to connect with HighQ AI Hub will now be enabled by default for all AI Hub customers
- Setup guidance for Document Intelligence sites is now easier and cleaner, offering a more streamlined experience
- Updates to the Legal Tracker connection let you seamlessly connect your matter management solutions for a single view across all your matters
- View matter information, including financials, to multiple relevant sites and link directly back to Legal Tracker from within HighQ
- Legal Tracker matter information is automatically updated in HighQ in near real-time
Streamlining data-driven workflows
- Within a custom email action, users can now select a document to be sent with an automatically triggered email notification, such as a copy of standard terms or an engagement letter
- Child documents in a suite of Contract Express automated documents can now be used to drive workflow rules
Enhancing key functionality
- Site admins can more easily search to link columns together, making it faster to configure new iSheets
- Exporting search results show the right level of context for your needs
- Enhanced capabilities for VDR let you uniquely identify documents in the exported index

Performance improvements
Our February 2023 release implements the following performance improvements:
Search
- When exporting search results from Excel, the more/less snippet setting is now respected. If you export a set of search results, you see the selected length of sample content from the document or article.
Files
- Audits are now split into hot and cold storage, current audits are stored in a quick insert location and long-term audits are stored separately. This retrieves audits far more quickly and file views are rendered 50% faster
- You can now display folder access for Groups in under a second
- Retrieval of document metadata is now twice as fast
- Gaining access to site folders is now 20% quicker
- Performance has been enhanced for updating group folder access via JSON file
- Documents can now be downloaded 11 times faster
iSheets
- End-user reference sheets are now returned in less than a second
- Retrieving active iSheets now occurs almost instantly

Contract Express
Search
- A new global search capability significantly improves the search experience and search result relevance. Search one site only or all sites where you have access from one central location. The new search is up to 90% faster and produces all results compared to the current 500 results limit
- The initial search filters are set to only search the current site to provide more relevant search results
- You can now research Practical Law from a search in HighQ - removing the need to navigate across multiple sources. Please note that this feature is available upon request from our HighQ Support Team ON REQUEST
Tasks
- You now receive a single email or notification summarising which tasks have been bulk updated as opposed to multiple notifications
- You can now use more matter maps from Practical Law: Capital Markets in the US, and Property in the UK
User Interface
- If a profile picture is not set, then the default user avatar now displays user initials and a coloured background tile
- We have updated the format and design of the in-app messaging panels in HighQ

Our January 2023 release implements the following performance improvements:
Files
- eSign documents can now be retrieved 3x faster
- Retrieving folder access lists is now 15x quicker
- We have improved the performance for retrieving documents that are available to print by reducing repetitive calls
- Loading the copying files panel is now done almost instantly
- The time to retrieve documents for viewer navigation is now over 5x faster
- You can now add a document in less than a second, 7x quicker than before
- The duration needed to retrieve folders and documents for user permissions has been reduced by 61%
- Updating system-level pre-defined relationships is now more than 15x quicker
iSheets
- Linked iSheets and Legal Tracker matters are now synced in near real-time
- Sheet column positions are now updated almost instantly
Reports
- Organisation reports are downloaded more than 7x faster
Wiki
- Retrieving indexed wikis is now more than 3x quicker than before
Notifications
- Notifications for users are now retrieved 4x faster
User
- Searching for users is now 3x faster
- Removing users from all sites is now 25% quicker
Tasks
- Task bulk action performance has been improved by 50%

- With the new global search, search performance is improved
