Overview of the report

This report gives users the ability to reports against content items that have been accessed; focused on unique visitors, i.e. ignoring multiple visits to the page in the same session.

This report is similar to the Content access audit, but focuses on visits from unique visitors over a session; multiple visits to the same page are ignored during that session.

The report includes visits to archived content. If you attempt to access archived content from this report, a 'Content no longer available' message is displayed.

Running the report

Navigate to System administration > Audits and reportingContent view audit to display the Content view audit screen:

Within the Content view audit screen, you have access to the following fields:

  • Select product - select all modules, or a single module from your site
  • Performed between - This field allows you to specify the date range of the action you want to investigate
  • Show advanced filters - It is possible to filter this report by Module, Organisation or Group or User

This report required enhanced abilities to identify unique external visits; as such reports cannot be generated for dates before the date your instance was updated to 5.7.30 (from 16th February 2024).

The difference between the selected start and end dates cannot exceed one year.

Additionally, please note that when the filter includes organisations or groups, then they are excluded from the exclusion organisation / groups section and vice versa, and as system administrators are also editors/approvers/module admins etc., when each of those are selected, they are excluded from that report.
